How I am “Sane” and the World is “Insane”…

Why does every human think that he is the Sane one and the Insane one is the one who is standing next to him standing on his head. The rule of the law is the man standing on his head feels the same about the man beside him. The same goes with the sanity and insanity of the cultures that we are experiencing, while the youth believe what we are doing is right and the old feel that they are doing the right thing. The fact is either of them are correct relative to there ownself.

The world would have been a better place, if some scientist invented a machine where the other person could understand his point of view. Not even that may be required, if parents could teach every kid on this planet that there are different views on this earth. The world would have turned to heaven today. Why dont parents teach us new things, why dont they go away from traditional methods. They are really afraid of experimenting with the kids life and they want to make a sheep out of the kids. I would not have been complaining if my parents had thought me to be different from the world and encouraged me to be different. I hate being a mediocre, the whole world hates being one. But all the time we are referred to as, if u are not being mediocre you wont make the daily food and the shelter. Food and shelter would really matter when there is a famine condition around. The reason we act so may be due to the act of preparation of ourselves to this famine which is always scheduled by whole set of people who live on this earth with fear of death at any second.

I very much feel that the people who are called Insane are the people who are actually normal human being.

Tomorrow Comes, the GRE will come too…

I am writing this on a day before my GRE, when i was supposedly needed to be studying all the word list or the mathematical formula’s to crack the gateway to US. I am unprepared, may be this is not the first time as previously my Engineering exams were attended with minimal preparations. The GRE seems to confuse me on why do we need to study English for that I am planning to do my Masters in Science in BioInformatics, should not they be testing my biology level. The universities feel the test on English will prove that i can excel in procuring the Master Degree. Though this has been a debate on why the bright students need to be in better schools and the poor students (by marks) need to be in a mediocre or below average schools. I hate to admit that students need to be accessed in much better manner than weighing their marks with other students. Should we not be considered differently then the groceries that they sell in Stores. They weigh us(by marks) basically to understand how qualified we are at procuring degrees. The students goal has turned out be the goal of getting a job, earning hefty pay packages and finally living lavish lives. Doesn’t this resemble the general story of every student, could not I live little different then all the students do. Could I cross over to a different level of thinking and still be not called the Black sheep in a White family.

Coming back to the topic of GRE, I don’t know whether my essay tomorrow is gonna come be properly organised and with lot of grammatically correct sentences. Does these things really can be achieved by 6 months of studying, I doubt. All the Exams, I have attended or heard of talk about a time limit at answering questions whether it might be a multiple choice questions or a paragraph length answers. Why should an Exam be time bound at the first place, Do you need to test every student by keeping him on a time bomb like “this will explode in 3 hours”. Though in real life the decisions are taken in a much more faster way. Is the society really preparing us in the right manner for the real life. Many of us would agree that exams and the present way of educational system is not good enough for the real world. I would reason it as because, no one ever defined the real world and no one could ever define it. The art of measurement though existed from early B.C. times. Did we ever look at measuring things differently. It was always about who could memorize this list of words and who could do this maths problem in a jiffy. No one ever thought whether he knows the meaning of all the words that he has memorized and his method of solving the problem in math is worth the effort or is it a solution with minimal mistakes. The all new Revised GRE is trying to do some of these, they have altered a large portion of the pattern of the exams. This was brought in by observation that the Post graduation level of studies require more of intellectual prowess then the memorizing ability. I believe this a small change that would eventually grow into other areas of examination.

The only other wish, I have is that people start respecting intellectual people then the beauty kings and queens of this world. The IQ of the world is definitely going down with the Newspapers and the Visual Media trying to put more focus on the not-so-important part of humans life. The media will always take a blame, but this blame is deeply rooted in the few people who are lazy enough to do nothing but gossip or chat about this not-so-important thing. Humans are socialized animals and we tend to be more at discussing the latest not-so-important thing then what is actually required in the life of every human. I am guilty of doing such an act, may be because i am addicted to it. The addiction as taken me to a different level of Cloud where i am not been able to understand what is Important in life. Is it the money or is it the fame, and importantly will you be famous by being more technical in your approach towards life. The MBA’s  and the Executives are haunting the life of this poor intellectuals. Though a great engineering innovation is much appreciated, the small innovations like the one in Discovery Channel about Indian Innovators are neglected.

I hope, One day a more technical person like me could achieve a small innovations and still be famous or be rich :P .

The GRE is tomorrow, may be this was a more of a practice essay writing on a day before. After listening/Watching to the lovely drizzle of Rain , here in Bangalore. The ease of life and the fulfillment of joy by the kids around. It all boils down under to should anyone be leaving India to earn Money. Though  I can understand that there will be no respect that everyone strives to achieve by either being famous or rich.

Patting on my back once again, I move ahead in striving to achieve greatness in a modest manner as possible. Hope the words and math, that i expect to see tomorrow don’t dance around my head in circles. Lets get this done, change the way students are perceived for their intellectual capacity.

Happy Engineers Day…for people back in India..

I want to so live the startup experience…

Startups here… Startups there..Startups, Startups…

I am working at Tata Consultancy Services, India’s Number Uno Company in IT services. Though I feel excited at the work that it is doing at the executive level. The work at the grass root level i.e, where i work is very boring. Its kind of a feeling of the small dragons feeding the mother dragon in the movie “How to train your dragon“. The rest assured, I am sick of working here. This is not the culture that i wanted to work on. Though the recession clouds are looming which is forcing me to stick to TCS, I have been planning to Quit TCS.

Moving on to Startups, I was Influenced on this subject by both living and non living entities. The living entities are Mark Zuckberg, Dennis Crowley, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. The list may seem too big but each person has a contribution on his own towards influencing me. Each personnel on my influential list are great achievers with varying levels of greatness.

Steve and Bill may be considered as visionaries who saw the future before anyone could understand. That is one character only few people in this world could be proud of about. The Startups is all about identifying what would be the X factor that would attract millions and millions of people towards your product. Steve and Bill had their own paths to trend, as one is a geek and another is a perfectionist in art. The very fact that will teach you that it is a mix of technology and art that will attract the common man towards whatever business that you tend to do. Coming now to Larry and Sergey, the one of the usual bollywood stories. The rise of the small people that is what all the bollywood movies are about. Larry and Sergey would teach you that dont evaluate your idea whether its small or big. Let your Idea grow and hope that it gains critical mass. Wait until the critical mass is attained and work hard towards it with all your effort.  The algorithm is all that they had when they started off with the GOOGLE, see now the company has grown huge bounds and competing with bigwigs like microsoft. This is all because they had a single idea that they added organic as well as inorganic growth along there present form of success. Coming to Mark Zuckberg, what could you talk about him. You see the Geeks are always passionate about something. The world knows him as the character in the movie “The Social Network” played by Jesse Essenberg. He wanted to create something so exciting that he would feel thrilled about what he was doing. I think that is the whole deal of Startup for me too. I want to be able to celebrate what I am doing. Mark zuckberg rocks for this reason that he wanted to understand what he wanted to do with the product that he had in his hands. Others might have just seen it as another website where i could be adding some ads that would be some amount of money. He did was something that a very few people would do, that is wait to realize the true potential of the product that he is building. That is the secret of the success of Mark zuckberg. It might seem that i have Dennis Crowley on the list of the interesting people who have influenced me on my quest towards building a startup. Dennis crowley is one guy who is so humble of what he is, that he still does not believe that he is achieved a lot of things. Even after selling a product to google and coming out with a very unique product that revolutionizes the way the people itneract with each other. Dennis’s humbleness and his revolutionary idea of the gamification has influenced me to be the startuper.

The Living entities will definitely influence as in all the people, but the non living entities play a equal role in influencing me towards the startup. The non living entities list are Tech Crunch, Money, Adventure and Fame. I will definitely not be lying when i can say the real things that influence me. There is nothing wrong about telling people that you would want more money in the future. People would try to hide there real sides and enhance the temporary fake side they always project. Going on to the TechCrunch Blog has influenced with its array of stories of startup stories. The vast number of interviews and the huge list of stories that they post about Startups. Money may be an entity created just to erradicate the rude form of barter system, but it still works. Money is one thing that definitely will be remembered in a long time. I was influenced by the huge money that these startups were making which would change my level of comfort to an unimaginable level at this stage. The next adventure and fame, I would want to club this too as they essentially different in meaning and sense are the same to me atleast. Adventure is the thrill of life that I would experience along the way of my startup whereas the fame is the thing that is a pat on the back by unknown stranger who says “Well Done my Boy”. The Non living entities might be short lived but the satisfaction quotient at the end of it all is pretty high compared to the daily job that we pursue.

Please neglect all the spelling mistakes in the article, I think there might not be much cases where the spelling mistake might have abandoned the startup. Start looking at the bigger picture and concentrate and focus on the task at hand. This essentially means that the amount of patience and focus will determine the success of your startup. I havent been focussing as much as I should but definitely from now on “I will Do”.

If you have any interesting Ideas, do log on to DESINLE. I have created a network, so we could you know crowdsource idea to a real product or you could just help me some products of the ideas I have. Though the blog talked about only entities that i have influenced me towards a startup.  It is this thirst for adventure as in overall that i want to live the startup experience.
